Three Floyds, the brewers of the famous Dark Lord Imperial Stout, have another yearly release that gets high marks – their Behemoth “Blonde” Barleywine. This citrusy, sweet and malty beer is one to be reckoned with.

For the first time ever, the FiftyFifty Brewing Co. Eclipse series beers hit the Philadelphia market, and we were lucky enough to pick up a few varieties. Today, Shane and Nick take a look at the Four Roses Bourbon single barrel aged Eclipse.
Mike brings back a bottle of Avery’s Rumpkin from the DC area, which is their Imperial Pumpkin Ale aged in rum barrels. At 15.90% ABV this beer packs plenty of holiday flavor.
Once again Shane, Nick and Mike sit down to take a look at Victory’s latest, and final, release of Dark Intrigue. This is their Storm King Russian Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels over the summer months of 2011.
Shane, Nick and Mike are back to tackle the famous bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout Black Tuesday from The Bruery. Not incredibly easy to obtain, this 18.3% ABV monster of a beer proves to be one worth seeking out.

In celebration of Sierra Nevada’s 30th Anniversary, Shane and Nick open one of the Reserve series beers, Grand Cru. A blend of Oak Aged Bigfoot, Celebration Ale and fresh hopped Pale Ale, this should make for a reason to celebrate.
To commemorate and celebrate the 20th anniversary of the debut album Ten by Pearl Jam, Dogfish Head brewed Faithfull Ale (Pearl Jam TWENTY) – a Belgian style golden ale brewed with currants.
Rogue’s Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon Ale delivers just that: doughnuts, maple and bacon all in a beer! Sound intriguing? We open this up and give our thoughts on this unique and crazy beer.

Southern Tier’s Pumking is regarded to be one of the best Imperial Pumpkin Ales out there. We open the 2010 and 2011 vintages side by side. Can it stand the test of time? Happy Halloween!
Voodoo Brewery’s Trapped Under Eisbock, a tribute to the Metallica song of the similar name is a big Eisbock aged on sour cherries. Shane and Nick crack into this beer that took over 18 months to release.

Shane and Nick open the famous Kern River Citra DIPA this week. Sent to me by my buddy Scott in California, this Double IPA is easily regarded to be one of the world’s best.
August 2011
Mike joins the group this week and brings over Cigar City Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout. Aged on cacao nibs, chiles, cinnamon and vanilla beans we pair this with chile chocolate and 70% cocoa dark chocolate.
Nick and Shane open Cigar City’s Either and Or, two distinctly unique yet slightly similar American Black Ales. These robust, hoppy and malty beers are paired with a creamy blue cheese.

Shane and Nick are back once again to open Mikkeller’s Chipotle Porter from Shane’s cellar. This week, we pair this spicy, bold beer with a medium brie cheese.
This week, Shane and Nick sit down in suburban Philadelphia to enjoy Brewery Ommegang’s Zuur, a collaborative Flanders Oud Bruin with Brouwerij Liefmans in Belgium.

Mike is back in Philadelphia and sits down with us to take a look at The Bruery’s 3rd Anniversary beer, Cuir. This 14.50% Old Ale is a blending of previous years’ batches using the solera method.

Nick returns from another great beer city Denver, CO with some great beer from Ska Brewing Company, their waxed Imperial IPA, Decadent and Local Series #16 Clancy’s Black Beer, a German-style Schwarzbier.

We’re back from our winter hiatus with a collaboration beer from Dogfish Head and Beer Advocate’s Alström Brothers, Wrath of Pecant! This limited, one-time production of an American Brown Ale with a twist, is brewed with smoked pecans and carobs.

In honor of our “Submit a Beer” contest, we have the winning suggestion, Firestone Walker 14. We pair this American Strong Ale, blended from six different barrels, with some homemade toffee/nut chocolate candy, courtesy of Mrs. Hoff.

Mike joins us this week (yes, believe it) to take a look at the Dogfish Head Chateau Jiahu, in light of the recent Brew Masters series. This 9000 year-old recipe boasts some pretty impressive flavors and techniques.
