Review: Surly Abrasive Ale0

One of the biggest benefits, and really the reason why I started trading, is getting to sample beer you otherwise couldn’t. Such is the case with Surly Abrasive, a 9% ABV tall-boy canned Double IPA from Minnesota. In a market of hundreds of different Double IPAs, my hope and suspicion is that Abrasive can stand on its own and prove that there’s more to Surly than Darkness.

Review: Dogfish Head My Antonia0

The time was October 2008 in Rome, Italy when Sam Calagoine of Dogfish Head and Leonardo DiVencenzo of Birra del Borgo first brewed My Antonia as a collaboration beer. Since its inception, Dogfish Head has brought back this Imperial Pilsner for a one time/limited release in mid 2010.

Review: Dogfish Head Squall IPA0

With the premiere of Discovery’s Brew Masters Sunday night, I felt I needed to pay an homage to this season’s star, Sam Caligione, the owner and founder of Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton, Delaware. I picked up some of the more limited release beers and decided to begin with the Squall IPA, a labeled “Bottle unconditioned naturally fermented 90 Minute India Pale Ale.”

Review: Allentown Brew Works Hop’solutely0

Hop’solutely from Allentown Brew Works labels itself as a “triple” IPA. I was delighted to pick this one up being a huge fan of IPAs. This review is based upon a corked and caged 750 ml bottle. I was happy with the Monkey Wrench Saison that Shane and I reviewed in our latest video review and was excited to uncork this bottle and get down to some beer loving fun.
