In the spirit of Valentine’s Day I shared a bottle of the Yards Chocolate Love Stout with my fiancée. It came in a 750 ml bottle with similar artwork to their Love Stout, which is a draft only oyster stout. The Chocolate Love Stout is exactly as one would envision, their year round Love Stout aged on cocoa nibs (and vanilla beans).

Review: Troegs Scratch Beer 83 ¿Impending Descent? (2012)0

One of Troegs newest additions to their Scratch Series, a one-off small batch release, is Scratch 83 – ¿Impending Descent? A rather massive 10.90% Russian Imperial Stout seems like a much needed style to Troegs seasonal or year-round line-up. Hopefully this one is good enough to be a potential contender if they decide to expand their portfolio.

Perhaps one of our favorite breweries, The Bruery, is back on the show with their latest in barrel-aged innovation, White Chocolate. Starting with a Wheatwine base, this massive 14.25% ABV beer is aged in bourbon barrels with vanilla beans and cocoa nibs.

Episode 44: Sierra Nevada Snowed In Stout – Beer Camp #45 (Video)0

The 2012 Sierra Nevada Beer Camp series is out, and today we’ve got the Snowed in Stout “Oatmeal Stout” #45. Classified as an Imperial Stout, this 9% ABV beer is the highest of the series this year. From Sierra Nevada: “This Imperial oatmeal stout is inky black in color, with a big milk chocolate, mocha-like aroma. It has a silky body from the use of rolled oats, and a round and lasting finish.”
