Mendocino Brewing Company is one of those breweries that I didn’t know about until I received one of their beers via a “beer of the month club” package. Out of this package I got two beers, one of them the Black Hawk Stout and the other the White Hawk IPA. Today I’ll be reviewing the White Hawk as it is 60 degrees at the end of January, and an IPA seems fitting and refreshing.

Wacko Magic Hat does it again? Yes they do! Do yourself a favor and read on before judging this one. Magic Hat has been in the micro-brewing scene since 1994, based out of Vermont. The Wacko doesn’t pack much of a punch at 4.5% ABV but that’s to be expected for a summer seasonal.

Flying Dog is home to some of the best brews I’ve tasted to date. With Spring here and Summer just around the corner, diving into their seasonal Biere de Garde style ale, Garde Dog, is right in line. A traditional French farmhouse ale, the Biere de Garde style is meant for consumption in the well-weathered Spring and Summer seasons.
