Up today for an in-depth look is the very local Philadelphia Brewing Company’s Rowhouse Red, their Farmhouse/Saison style Ale. Refreshingly average for the style is a stamp of 5% ABV for this 12 ounce bottle. Pictured on the front is what appears to be an elegant looking rowhouse, hopefully situated somewhere in Philadelphia.

Review: Saison du BUFF0

The Saison du BUFF (Brewers United for Freedom of Flavor), is a collaborative beer between Stone Brewing Company, Victory Brewing Company and Dogfish Head. This Saison/Farmhouse style ale was initially brewed at Stone in April 2010, and then brewed at Victory in July 2010 and finally at Dogfish this month, August 2010.

Review: Simply Beer Fickle Mistress6

Tonight, I’m enjoying the Funky Saison “Fickle Mistress” from Peter, the genius home-brewer, at Simply Beer. This Saison-style beer is another excellent addition to Peter’s lineup who, by the way, will have a brewpub of his own at the rate he’s going. At 8.1% ABV this drifts towards the higher end in the sessionable ABV range but the flavor profile puts it right in line.

Review: Ithaca Ground Break2

I picked up a case of the Ithaca Beer Company variety pack with Shane. I reached out of my refrigerator for a random brew this evening and Ithaca presented me with the tasty Ground Break Ale, which is an American Style Saison Ale. This brew comes in right at the sessionable range at a modest 6% ABV.
