Schlafly Tap Room, under the Saint Louis Brewery, from St. Louis, Missouri delivers a gift for the holidays — their Christmas Ale. This Herb/Spiced beer is a nice touch to this Midwest brewpubs offering. Since Schlafly only distributes locally in the Midwest, and by “locally” their website means four-t0-five hours from the brewery — it’s great I’ve got the opportunity to try some of their flagships.
I was excited at the opportunity to test out Yards Poor Richard’s Tavern Spruce Ale. Growing up in the Philadelphia suburbs, I’ve heard so much about Yards and can’t say I have ever been coherent enough to enjoy it. Before I jump into the review, allow me to give you a brief background on one of the breweries in the heart of the City of Brotherly Love.
Dogfish Head uses the oldest fermented beverage recipe in the world to brew their Midas Touch. I had the pleasure of finding this at one of my local establishments that specializes in the finer craft beers. The Midas Touch holds down at 9% ABV. Enjoying this brew was a great way to start off a rainy afternoon.
