The Shipyard Brewing Company out of Portland, Maine was founded in 1994 and is the largest brewery in the state. Their Export Ale is a 5% ABV American Blonde Ale. Promising a clean finish with some subtle hop flavors, this should prove to be a good session beer with its crisp and refreshing qualities.

Victory Brewing Company released their Blonde Ale, Summer Love, for the second year after overwhelming success from it in 2010. Debuting during Philly Beer Week last year, Victory and Philadelphia’s “With Love, Philadelphia XOXO” campaign teamed up to release this beer made with pale malts, German hops and Brandywine River water.

Review: Penobscot Bay Whig Street Blonde0

Last week I was on vacation in Greenville, Maine and as I was wondering around the small grocery store I passed by the beer section. Amongst the standard craft/micro beer imitations I spotted four beers from the Penobscot Bay Brewing Company out of Winterport, Maine. I had to buy all four beers, which are the only four that they brew, considering I had never seen them before.
