Great job Shane! I can't help but agree with you. I often frequent "craft beer bars," however I have not been one to turn down a trip to the bar with good friends. A lot of the local bars, the holes in the wall, and the bars with the dance floors are all starting to slowly jump on the craft beer band wagon. While their selection isn't anything to write home about, they do have some solid choices. Most recently I have seen Rogue Dead Guy, Sierra Nevada, Dogfish Head and Flying Dog. And these are in pizza shops and the "local" places.

I think some of the larger establishments are hesitant to bring in the micros as they may lose some sponsorship from the macros.

Regardless, it's still nice to see it's a growing market with a strong potential to grow.

Thanks for the great article, Shane. And thank goodness for social media. Between Facebook & Twitter, we can keep reaching out in a way that wouldn't be possible in the regular media. And people find us through all sorts of beer-centric search sites as well as Google & all. The craft beer community is a special group. We all just need to watch out as the macros try to cash in on the interest in craft beer. It's up to us to spread the word that real craft brewers are small & independent.

Great article. I think you'll see more bars and restaurants providing and specializing in craft beer, or at least I hope so. Also, I'm sure you'll continue to see the expansion in use of social media by brewers and breweries to reach their audience.
