Craft Ale House is located right on Ridge Pike in Limerick, PA – about 30-40 minutes outside of Philadelphia. The building is a modestly sized establishment with an occupancy around one-hundred people. The layout is split, with the bar on one half and the dining area on the other half. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the lighting. It is dim and very relaxing, but not too dark.

Dragon’s Milk, a strong ale, from New Holland Brewing is part of New Holland’s High Gravity Series and is considered one of the flagship beers for the brewery. This a beer which I have had on draft once before but have since forgotten what it tastes like. So, for this review I’m refreshing my memory using a bottle poured into a glass, I know…take pity on me.
Terrapin Beer Company out of Athens, GA says of Hopsecutioner, “You may lose your hophead over this one!” Being a hop-head who loves beers to have more hops than a pogo stick competition, I just had to give it a go when I saw the evil looking turtle staring at me through the glass of the cooler at Craft Ale House.
The New Holland Mad Hatter IPA checks in at 5.8% ABV from a 12 oz bottle I purchased stamped “10/6.” While not an absolutely ideal bottle, being a bit more aged than the majority, it still provided a solid and excellent taste. I poured this one into one of my many standard pint glasses for this taste. It poured a very rich (darker) amber color and was accompanied by an off-white head.
